Sowing:
Transplant: Sow 1/4- 1/2" deep 4-5 weeks before last frost. Darkness is required for germination. Direct seed - 6 weeks before last frost. Seedlings won't be damaged by light frost.
Direct Seeding (recommended): Soak seeds in lukewarm water for at least 3-6 hours before seeding. Direct seed in early spring is recommended, lightly cover seed with soil. Plant seeds along a trellis as sweet peas are a climbing vine.
Care: Pinch when 6-8" tall to encourage denser branching and more flowers. Trellis support is required. Deadhead or cut regularly to encourage continuous blooms throughout the season.
Harvesting:
Fresh: When harvesting cut flower when two or three blooms start to show color. Adding flower preservative in their water will prolong their vase life.
Dried: Not a common dried flower.
