A sister to the carnation, dianthus ruffle clusters add texture to your cut flower garden. The white makes great filler for wedding work!
Approximate Seeds per Packet: 25
Sunlight: Sun/Part Shade
Mature Height: 18″ - 36"
Germination: 7-14 days at 18-22°C
Transplant (recommended): Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost, transplant after the last threat of frost has passed.
Direct Seeding: Direct seed after last frost.
Care: No special care required.
Fresh: Harvest when the flower cluster is just beginning to show color and open up (when 10-20% of flowers in the cluster are opening up)
Dried: Harvest when the flower cluster is fully open. Hang to dry. We use dried dianthus as more of a textural element, rather than for its colour as we don't find it holds its colour particularly well.
