Do you want to be able to walk through your garden and cut yourself a weekly bouquet during the summer? Have you thought about starting flowers from seed but need a nudge in the right direction? Are you an avid gardener looking to take on a few more challenging varieties but need help planning out your season?
Come spend a morning learning basic techniques on how to grow and maintain your own small-scale cut flower garden for your enjoyment! Together we will create a basic garden plan outlining the specific varieties that will allow you to enjoy blooms throughout Manitoba's growing season. .
We will also touch on how we start and grow some trickier varieties like ranunculus and anemones. Please don't feel like you need to be a master gardener for this workshop, with a little guidance and a little love anyone can harvest (literally!) the pleasure that gardening can provide.
If there is a specific topic or question that you are looking to have answered in this workshop, please include your area(s) of interest in the notes section at checkout. We can do our best to tailor the day's agenda to match the group's areas of interest to make sure it is an educational and productive day for all!
Each workshop participant will go home with a starter cut flower kit carefully curated by the Lily Stone team, including seeds, 6 pack trays, and more! PLUS you will get exclusive early access to our cut flower greenhouse before it open to the public!!
Guest Speaker: This year we have the pleasure of hosting our friend and fellow flower lover, Heather from Prairie Grove Acres. Heather will spend some time talking about Dahlias, her love for them, how to grow, harvest and care for the blooms, but also proper saving, storage and division of the tubers for the following year. We love supporting our fellow local growers, especially someone like Heather who has been such a cheerleader of ours over the years. When we use Dahlias in our wedding designs, she is our first call! An added perk to the workshop for attendees is getting the opportunity to purchase tubers from Heather that are directly from her farm. Such a fun experience to bring home a little bit of that magic! Registered guests will also receive a free digital copy of Heather's handbook ‘Dahlias - Lets Grow Together’.
