Spiky blue/indigo globe shaped flower heads that give great texture and whimsy to any garden and bouquet! They work well in bouquets and arrangements to add a pop of that demanded navy blue and they also make great dried flowers!
Be careful - the globes can be a bit prickly as you work with them!

Sowing:
Transplant (recommended): Sow indoors 8 weeks before the last frost, transplant to the garden once all threat of frost has passed.
Direct Seeding: (not recommended)
Care: Spacing up to 24" apart. Divide every few years to prevent overcrowding. Tolerant of poor soil conditions.
Harvesting:
Fresh: Harvest when globes are blue but before shedding pollen. Adding flower preservative in their water will prolong their vase life.
Dried: Harvest the same as for fresh use and hang to air dry. If harvested when too late, the globes are more prone to shattering.
