These Apricotta cosmos are tall, vigorous, and tend to branch readily resulting in many stems loaded with flowers on every plant. Flowers tend to have a single row of petals with variation in colours - blush, apricot, rose, etc. 2 1/2 to 3" blooms.
Cosmos are great seeds for the beginning grower as they flourish on their own. The more you cut, the more they’ll bloom so snip away!!

Sowing:
Transplant: To sow indoors, start 4-6 weeks before the last frost date, covering seeds lightly. Transplant when all threats of frost have passed.
Direct Seeding: Direct seed after all threat of the last frost has passed & soil temperature is above 16°C, covering seeds lightly.
Care: Pinching will encourage branching, but may delay blooming slightly so use your judgment. Deadhead or cut regularly to encourage continuous blooming throughout the season. Use of horizontal netting or other supports will help to prevent flopping and ensure straight stems, especially in windy locations.
Harvesting:
Fresh: When harvesting, choose stems that are just starting to open. Strip away any foliage that would fall below the water line so that it does not contribute to bacteria growth in the water. Adding flower preservative to their water will prolong their vase life.
TIP: We often leave some foliage on our cosmo stems to act as built-in foliage in our designs. We love the fluffy, dreamy look that it adds.
Dried: Not typically used as a dried flower.
